Who doesn’t want to easily keep their blanket covering themselves and still have their hands free to do stuff? I do, I’ve already ordered mine from another deal. Should be here any day free. PaperBackSwap is a free online book exchange service. You create an account on the site and create a list of any books you’re looking to swap. Books are swapped through snail mail. The magic number is nine, list nine books and the site gives you three credits to “buy” books that other people have listed.

What Do I Do With a Credit?

Credits are freebies on shipping. Once you list nine books you’re willing to swap, you receive three credits. You can then search the site for a book you’re interested in and use the credit to “buy” it. Once you receive the book in the mail you go online and mark it as received. The person who sent the book then receives a credit and they can “buy” a used book of their choice.

You get a credit each time someone receives a book that they have requested from your list and the cycle goes on and on.

I’m on the hunt for cheap eats and nothing in the land of groceries is cheaper then Ramen Noodles. I decided to fool around with the noodles common to so many college students (I know I had my fill during my four years) and see if I could make something delicious out of them.

Ingredients

• One head green cabbage
• One head purple cabbage
• Garlic salt
• Toasted slivered almonds
• Toasted sesame seeds
• Six green onions
• 1/2 cup Seasoned Rice Wine Vinegar
• 1/2 cup oil
• Three packages of Ramen Noodles

Break up the Ramen Noodles and dice the green onions and set them aside then slice the cabbage into thin strips and place them in a large bowl. Toss the cabbage with garlic salt (you can definitely use fresh garlic if you prefer). Add the sesame seeds, slivered almonds, scallions, and broken up Ramen Noodles. Combine the oil and vinegar, mix together with the salad and place in the fridge to chill (optional).

Before serving add a few more broken Ramen Noodles on top to add a little crunch and enjoy!

These tough times are hitting all of us hard. I have been watching someone I love struggle financially for the last year, my mom. She lives in a place where the cost of living is simply out of control. She works two jobs and still doesn’t make enough to live.

While poking around Chris Brogan’s blog I found a cool post about a new food blog that is a little spicier then the norm, BrokeAss Gourmet. Adam Metz has teamed up with Gabi Moskowitz and Violet Blue, the leading sex blogger to bring a new twist to food in these tough times.

The site seeks to be the place to go for inexpensive dining ideas, as well as recipe hacks, and other tips that might help you get from the kitchen the bedroom, if done right. Hmm, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
